No matter what age you are society has norms and thoughts about what you should and shouldn’t wear.
My advice, say ‘phish’ and live your style with grace and aplomb.
I love knee length outfits and wearing boots. People often tell me that I don’t look my age at 63 years old. That’s not the point for me.
I dress according to my likes and tastes and not to look young or ‘my age’. That is a societal narrative which aims to put us into age boxes. I refuse to let a date on my passport become a dress code.
My wardrobe is an expression of joy, not compliance.
Women are constantly told there is an invisible line where we should become quieter, smaller and less visible. I have no intention of crossing that line. Age has given me something far more valuable than youth ever could: confidence in my own choices. I no longer dress to seek approval.
I dress to feel like myself.
At 63, I have earned the freedom to define my own style. If I love colour, I’ll wear colour. If I love trainers with dresses, I’ll wear them. The greatest style statement isn’t looking younger—it’s looking unapologetically yourself.
