My week has got off to the same start as the last 3 weeks – fatigue from fighting a very stubborn virus.
And honestly? I’m giving myself permission to pause. Sometimes the bravest thing we can do in midlife is not push through, but simply rest.
I’m realising that so much of our stress comes from thinking we must be productive every minute. But healing is productive. Slowing down is wise.
I’ll bounce back soon as I always do. But right now, I’m choosing rest and tea over hustle and guilt. And I think midlife has taught me that being kind to myself isn’t indulgent — it’s necessary.
If today you also feel a bit wobbly, drained, foggy, or tired, join me in taking the pressure off. Let this be a gentle Monday.
What do you need more of today — rest, comfort, patience, or peace?
“Rest and be thankful.” — William Wordsworth
